Tia may be from Minneapolis, but she has made full use of her passport by traveling and living in countries around the world. She spent two years in London, England, where she quickly learned that “Mind the gap” is not a reference to a clothing a store, but rather a warning of where to step. In France, Tia was tricked into saying “Je suis mon seul ami”, which she thought was “where is the restroom” but is really “I am my only friend.” Tia had better luck in China, where she studied marketing and saw first hand where so many of the products we use are manufactured.
One of her most amazing experiences was in Peru where she worked at Mother Teresa’s Hospice, assisting with the daily care of terminally ill and extremely impoverished men and children. Tia says, “My experiences around the world help me in my advertising career because they give me insight into how the world really is, and how to communicate with different types of people.”
