Background
Kristin was born and raised in Maplewood, Minn., living in the same house her whole life with most of her relatives residing close by. “Six of my relatives live within a five mile radius and I graduated with six cousins.” But don’t be fooled by her rooted upbringing, Kristin’s energy and compassion have lead her through expeditions all over the world.

- Building two houses in one week for Habitat for Humanity
- She has a fear of snakes, “It all started when I watched a special on Rescue 911…” On the flip side, Kristin quickly overcame this hoax when she went Anaconda hunting in Venezuela
- Propelled down a 150-foot waterfall, all to plummet to the nearest watering hole for Piranha fishing, “You eat the piranhas whole – scales, eyes, and all – the best part of it all is they suck out the insides through the mouth.” This rare delicacy was quite hard for Kristin to stomach.
- Kristin assisted in public relations efforts for Joe Wurl, who volunteered to ride his bike down the state of Minnesota in only eight days, to raise money and awareness for ALS. The publicity efforts included over ten articles published and two TV stories.
- As an intern for the Minnesota Journalism Center, she was the lead event planner on the mentor kick-off, allowing for over 80 students and their mentors to meet – Bon Appetite.
Off Shore
Kristin lives her life traveling, scrap booking, waterskiing and tubing.
