Hiromi Matsumoto - Interactive Art Director - Web Developer

Hired May 2000

Background:

An only child of Polish/Swedish and Japanese parents, he grew up with relatives in Green Bay and Tokyo. Currently Hiromi lives with his wife Robbie in St. Paul.

Education:

  • New Horizons Learning Center: Webmaster Certification

On being an only child:

You get all the attention, but you also get all the pressure.

Alternatives:

Even though he was born and raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Hiromi is not a football fan. He's more of an "art guy," using his studio for music production and painting for the occasional show.

Proudest moment:

In high school, he won a Goldpallet award at the National Scholastic Competition for a portrait he painted. He and his family were flown to Washington DC, and his painting was hung in the Corcoran Museum. "Making your family proud is very important."

Work experience:

Several "fun" stories. Ask him about digging foundations by hand in the Southern California desert or teaching English in Japan. Now he enjoys programming and designing websites.

Passions:

Studying religions and history. "There's nothing better than understanding. I'm always searching for the big Ah-ha! in life."
