In addition to the full-time job of job hunting after graduation, December 2005, Anne also worked at Axel's Bonfire in Woodbury.
While at UW-RF, Anne worked as a copy editor, reporter and page editor for the student newspaper, the Student Voice. "My time there strengthened my writing skills and allowed me to fulfill a variety of roles as a team player. As my first job out of college, I'm excited to be able to put what I've learned to work for Risdall."
"I became Auntie Anne for the first time this past summer. It's got a nice ring to it, don't you think?"
"Why choose when I can have it all? This fulfills my dream of being a kid in a candy store!" Swedish fish, anything "gummy".
When not playing sports, Anne enjoys watching them. She also spends a lot of time running, playing volleyball, hiking and being outdoors. Come Friday afternoon, Anne looks forward to weekends spent camping and canoeing with her family. "After spending a semester studying abroad in Scotland, I came home with a serious travel bug. I look forward to going back to some of the places I visited in Europe, especially Scotland."
People could consider Anne a "Yooper." Much of her early childhood was spent in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan before her family moved to Minnesota in 1995.
"When UW-RF's chancellor died in a car accident the morning the Student Voice newspaper was about to go to press, I interviewed a variety of students and faculty to help put together a front-page story on the fly. After completely changing the front-page layout, we were able to get the story out to the campus that day, while still meeting the press deadline."
