“Vatican Splendors” captures the attention of Twin Cities media and brings out crowds to the Minnesota History Center.
Hundreds of priceless artifacts and pieces of artwork – accompanied by security, curators and staff – arrived at the Minnesota History Center in early September. Recognizing the significance of this exhibit, RMPR was tasked to preview and discuss the exhibit with the media as well as highlight several special objects. Using media relations tactics such as special events and an electronic press kit, RMPR successfully secured coverage from major Twin Cities news outlets during the grand opening week. This effort helped the History Center sell more than 20,000 tickets prior to the opening – 5,000 more than its goal.
This month’s Clients in the News selection is KARE-TV’s coverage of “Vatican Splendors”. During the live “talk-back” interview, Vatican expert, Peter Radetsky, discussed several of the objects and the importance of this exhibit for people from all religious backgrounds.
The KARE-TV interview was just one of many articles and live interviews that took place during the week of the grand opening. “Vatican Splendors” was also featured on the cover of the Pioneer Press, in the Star Tribune, and on a variety of Twin Cities and surrounding area television and radio shows. During the next few months, RMPR will continue to develop in-depth and personal stories about the “Vatican Splendors” exhibit and the people that make it possible. Look for more media coverage in the near future!
