Client of the Month

Client Spotlight

When you've been in business for over thirty years, you get to meet a few people. Build a few relationships. Launch some great ideas. The Client of the Month is no ordinary accolade at Risdall Advertising Agency. It's our way of spotlighting a variety of clients and what makes them great.

Every month we feature a different RAA client right here on our web site, with digital versions of their marketing materials and a link to their web site. And when you visit our office, you'll see more of their work in our Client of the Month Showcase.

Take a few minutes and get to know these great companies and their people. We're honored to work with them and share their stories.

Rainbow Treecare

June 2009 Client of the Month

Client Profile

Rainbow Treecare is a full-service tree, shrub, and lawn health care company that serves the Minneapolis, St. Paul metro area with expert arborists who diagnose and treat everything from plant pathogens, to insects, to fertilization and more.

What makes them great:

Rainbow Treecare has been committed to the preservation and the beautification of the urban forest for over 30 years. They embrace science in the pursuit of knowledge and all of their more than 40 Consulting Arborists are certified and hold college degrees. In addition, they have more ISA Board-Certified Master Arborists on staff than any other tree care company in Minnesota.

The RMG Scoop:

When it was announced that the Emerald Ash Borer – a devastating threat to Minnesota's ash trees – was discovered in St. Paul, Risdall Public Relations (RPR) attended the press conference to facilitate one-on-one media interviews with Rainbow Treecare. Interviews were conducted with KARE-TV, KMSP-TV, KSTP-TV, WCCO-TV, Star Tribune and St. Paul Pioneer Press.

The next day, RPR sent out a media advisory stating the availability of Rainbow Treecare experts for commentary. This was followed with pitch calls to Minneapolis/St. Paul television stations, daily newspapers and news radio stations.

RPR also pitched Star Tribune and St. Paul Pioneer Press notifying them of the May 18 treatment testing at Mears Park, and coordinated interviews with Dr. John Lloyd on Minnesota News Network and with Greg Krogstad on KARE-TV 4 p.m. newscast May 15.

When TV stations and daily papers started broadcasting stories about the emerald ash borer, Risdall tracked Rainbow Treecare's mentions in print, broadcast and online media outlets.

Media Efforts

Risdal Sandstrom Media Works negotiated and bought spots for a 4-week schedule on radio stations: Clear Channel (KEEY-FM, KFAN-AM, KTCZ-FM), CBS Radio (WCCO-AM), Hubbard Radio (KSTP-AM), Citadel Radio (WGVX-FM, KQRS-FM).

Risdall Marketing Group developed a 30-second radio spot to run on all purchased radio spots.
