M.A., English Language and Literature, University of Minnesota B.A., English and Journalism (advertising emphasis), University of Minnesota, magna cum laude

Achievements & Awards:

Tina's work at RAA has won two 1995 Medical Marketing Association In-Awe awards, a 1994 Summit Award, 1994 and 1990 Telly Awards, a 1992 Adrian Award (travel industry), a 1990 Star City Marketing Award, and a 1989 Bank Marketing Association Award. Tina competed successfully on Jeopardy! in 1993. She was a one-game champion, winning cash, a trip, and fabulous parting gifts. Tina was a member of the national champion University of Minnesota College Bowl team in 1984. In high school and college, she earned many honors and scholarships, including Phi Beta Kappa and National Merit.

Previous Work Experience:

Tina has been getting paid to write and edit since the age of 19. She began her advertising career at the Minnesota Daily, where she worked as a copywriter, 1983-1984, and as Advertising Creative Director, 1984-1985. She also worked as the Advertising Director for the Minnesota Shakespeare Company during its 1986 winter season.

Old movies, mystery novels, history (especially Tudor and Stuart England), Art Deco design, and really fine footwear. Tina reads and writes compulsively.

Additional Information:

During the Dark Ages, Tina held clerical positions at a nursing home, a teacher's employment agency and a retail jeweler's appraisal lab. She was raised bilingually (English and Estonian) and knows some French. She has traveled in North America, the Caribbean, the Middle East and Europe.
